Located 2 hours north of New York City in the western Catskills, The North Branch Inn is an elegant fourteen room retreat in the quaint town of North Branch.   Breakfast is included with your stay and is offered in our Parlor or outside in our gardens.   Our setting allows for a quiet escape from the world, and similar to our sibling properties, offers an experience more similar to staying with friends rather than in a traditional hotel.

Nestled next to a small creek, North Branch was officially named in 1851, and constituted not much more than 7 families, a general store, post office, and a bowling alley.  Famous for its orchards and apple cider, a great variety of apples grew here and were prized all over the world.  Time has stood still in this small corner of the world where this still holds true today.  The décor at the Inn aims to honor this rich past while providing modern amenities such as free wireless internet, Malin and Goetz bath products, crisp cotton sheets and indulgent down duvet covers.

The North Branch Inn is owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Sims Foster and Kirsten Harlow Foster and their team.  The Foster family has been in the Catskills for 5 generations dating back to the 1910s.  The Fosters have been a steady presence in helping to revitalize their hometown of Livingston Manor by opening 3 different restaurants since 2002.  After Sims and Kirsten were married they wanted to continue the progression of hospitality in the area and the result was The Arnold House, a 13 room inn, tavern and spa that opened in the Summer of 2014 on nearby Shandelee Mountain.   The North Branch Inn was their second venture, which they are tremendously proud of.  Since then, they have also opened Nine River Road in the nearby town of Callicoon in the summer of 2016 and The DeBruce, just outside of Livingston Manor, in May 2017.

Before moving upstate full time to open and operate their small hotel company, Foster Supply Hospitality, Kirsten and Sims had active careers that took them to the city and beyond.  Kirsten is an economist and served as Senior Policy Advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and Sims was a hospitality executive working with some of the most noted chefs and bar personalities in the world.
